War Horse (2011) Review

War Horse is the newest Steven Spielberg film—his first since the disastrous fourth Indiana Jones film—and supposedly his return to artistic form, helming a movie based on a book that was a play. The basic plot is that a young boy befriends a horse that is later sold by his father into war and the ensuing bravery the horse, Joey, faces amongst the horrors of World War I and the people he affects.

Horror Flicks: Jaws (1975)

Duh-duh. Duh-duh. Duh duh duh duh duh duh--okay, you get my point. Almost everyone knows Jaws, even if they haven't seen it. It was the cultural phenomenon in 1975 that practically invented the summer blockbuster movie and jumpstarted Steven Spielberg into celebrity status. Imagine a film like Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, only in the cold, dark reaches of the ocean with a man-eating great white shark. Yeah, you see my point.
