Videogame Bits: Tron (1982)

By Terry Cleveland

While Tron may not technically be a video game adaptation it’s still a movie about video games (and therefore applicable to this column) and is easily better than most of the other trash of the genre by a significant margin.

Videogame Bits: Postal (2007)

By Terry Cleveland

What can I say about Postal? Well basically it is one of the worst if not the absolute worst movie that I have ever had the displeasure of viewing.

Comic Movie Collection: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010)

By Jason Haskins

Edgar Wright is the esteemed filmmaker behind the epic Shaun of the Dead feature as well as the fantastic Spaced television show. As a Brit, he made his American debut recently with the Michael Cera-helmed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World based on the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley to mostly positive reviews, but little box office return. The audience he was trying for virtually did not swarm to see this, however. Why did this movie not perform well? Is this movie worth the watch? What the hell is it all about?

Videogame Bits: King Of Fighters (2010)

By Terrry Cleveland

King of Fighters, for those who don’t know, is a greatest hits of SNK fighting games where fighters from all of the SNK fighting franchises vie for the title of King of Fighters.  This isn’t such a bad idea when you see it on paper, but playing the games is nothing more than  a mish mash of bad fighting games from the late 90’s, and sadly the movie is worse.... much, much worse.

Videogame Bits: Silent Hill (2006)

By Terry Cleveland

Finally it I happened; I finally found a video game adaptation that isn’t a complete pile of trash, or something that Uwe Boll decided to shit on. Being a fan of both horror and video games I didn’t really have high hopes for this film after seeing the mess that was Resident Evil, but thankfully I found that I enjoyed most all of the film, which in lieu of all of the other films that I have been watching for this column lately is a much needed respite.

Videogame Bits: Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001)

By Terry Cleveland

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is set in a barren wasteland: the post-apocalyptic aftermath of an alien meteor that struck the planet forty years ago. We then meet Dr Aki Ross (voiced by Ming Na) who is studying the aliens (called phantoms) who instantly suck the life-force out of any living thing they come into contact with. Dr. Ross is searching for spirits to put together to make a neutral “spirit wave” to rid the planet of the phantoms. She then teams up with a group of soldiers voiced by Alec Baldwin, Steve Bucemi, Ving Rames, and Peri Gilpin to help stop the invasion and restore life to the planet.
